The topics covered in the interview range from inclusion of EAL learners in mainstream classrooms, EAL qualifications of staff working with EAL learners, the need for training mainstream teachers in EAL pedagogy, tensions between schools and ethnic minority communities as well as effective EAL strategies – amongst many other topics raised.
